It’s no secret that we are big fans of the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society, a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to overseeing the health and welfare of feral and domestic cats through its no-kill programs.
As animal lovers, all of us at Carry Out Cafe want to remind you to open your heart (and wallet) to support MRFRS.
This weekend (Sat., Oct. 22 from 6-10 p.m. at Blue Ocean Music Hall) is the Fur Ball, the society’s largest fundraiser of the year. The event features a silent and live auction hosted by news anchor Randy Price, along with music, appetizers, and a cash bar.
Carry Out Cafe has donated a $100 gift certificate that you bid on and use for side dishes to save time at Thanksgiving. In addition, there will be a new game, Heads or Tails, where the winner of the coin flip will win a flat-screen TV.
All proceeds will be used for the MRFRS programs. The society not only cares for sick and homeless felines but also operates the Catmobile, a mobile vet clinic providing low-cost spay/neuter services. And, no… the driver of the Catmobile is not in costume and is not Eartha Kitt/Julie Newmar/Michelle Pfeiffer.
